Leonardo V. Riella, MD, PhD
Associate Physician, Associate Director of Kidney Transplantation.
Dr. Riella is a nephrologist and physician-scientist at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. His research is focused in understanding immune-mediated kidney diseases using novel breakthrough technologies. He is particularly interested in the connection between the diet, the immune system and kidney disease.
Dr. Riella has published numerous papers, books and has received multiple awards, including the John P. Merrill Career Development Grant in Transplantation by the American Society of Nephrology, the Young Innovator Award of the American Society of Transplantation (AST), and the 2016 Basic Science Career Development Award from the AST.
